Redesigning my Desk Setup

Overview

Over the summer I had been wanting to revamp my desk setup after watching a variety of YouTube videos covering Home Office's. In early January 2022 I started a new job primarily working from home and found this a great start of getting my WFH office in order ready for a fresh start. There was a few main goals I wanted the desk to achieve,

• Comfortable for Long Sessions
• Ability to sit and stand with ease
• Compatibility with both Work Laptop and Personal Setup
• Allow me to switch between work and personal with ease
• Variety of Storage for extra cables
• Organised structure
• Warm lighting for inviting mood

Moodboarding

I started by collating a variety of styles I like in terms of just interior design then slowly narrowing it down to specifically offices, I knew I wanted my space to be quite bright and let in lots of light so that it feels inviting and summery all year round. Over the last 12 months I've been enjoying more botanical themes and wanted to start incorporating that into my Workspace. I made a Notion page and started linking all the things I could take inspiration from including video links and screenshots. Some of the major inspirations for my setup included:

This gave me a nice simple starting point and from these video links I started collating links to products I knew I wanted to include within the setup. My first product on the list was the ability to be able to sit stand so I decided on the Flexispot Electric Standing Legs, this allow me to mount my own custom worktop onto the legs and also give me the ability of motor automated height with memory profiles for both sitting and standing while also on a budget.
